Use Cases for AI Voice

From virtual assistants to automated call centres, AI voices have become a familiar part of our world. You might have asked Siri or Alexa to play a favourite music playlist, tell you the weather forecast, or read a text message. You’ve probably had a digital assistant give you directions while you’re driving. And you’ve likely navigated your way to a customer service representative by responding to automated prompts on a phone call. AI voices are all around us.

The variety of use cases for AI voices will continue to expand—especially as the quality of those AI voices improves. A growing number of game and film studios, advertising firms, technology vendors, educational companies, and healthcare organizations will discover new ways to employ AI voices as those voices begin to sound even more human.

At Sonantic, we are driven to deliver lifelike, expressive AI voices that will support these technological advances and various use cases. By offering highly expressive, emotional AI voices through a text-to-speech (TTS) platform, we believe we can help organizations speed creative processes, produce engaging experiences, enhance accessibility, and more.

In part one of this blog series, we’ll explore a few of the ways content creators are currently using our AI voice technology.

Gaming, Animation & Film

Whether a studio is designing a new game, creating an animated movie, or working on the next blockbuster action film, that studio’s narrative designers and scriptwriters have critical roles in building engaging stories. But to truly bring those stories to life, creative studios need human voices. If writers, directors, and producers can hear actors performing dialogue through every phase of the production process, they can more efficiently fine-tune scripts and craft scenes, ultimately accelerating the creative process and improving end results.

Unfortunately, incorporating those voices from pre-production through to final production can be rather challenging. The logistics alone are time and capital intensive. From scheduling & booking studio time – to recording, directing and editing numerous iterations,–  it’s an investment that adds up for studios.

Sonantic offers an alternative. Using our AI voices from the beginning of a project, writers can immediately hear what their scripts will sound like—and they can make adjustments as they continue to write. Directors can then experiment with a variety of creative options without having to schedule numerous sessions with actors. Studios can shrink timelines down from months to minutes.

If a studio decides to use AI voices as part of the final production, the creative team can continue to experiment and iterate all the way through to the end of the project, making last-minute adjustments in everything from emotional tone to pacing. As the studio then prepares for a game or movie release, it can use AI voices for dubbing, marketing, and improving accessibility for consumers.

Advertising & Media

However, AI voices are not limited to the production or promotion of games, animation, and films. Advertising firms, media companies, and in-house marketing teams, for example, can use AI voices for creating powerful, engaging campaigns for a full range of products.

Consider how AI voices could help an agency cut through the noise of today’s marketing and advertising. As consumers, we’re constantly bombarded with flashing banners, multi-media ads, and billboards. AI voices can strengthen that impact. For example, an ad firm could use AI voices to cost-effectively personalize ads, making them more relatable, inserting micro-sentences into videos that appeal to the target audiences.

AI voices can also be employed for a variety of other media content. Using a celebrity or influential person to promote a brand or product can often help companies stand out in a crowd and produce a lasting impact. Incorporating influential AI voices into virtual workouts, news programs, and interactive media, for example, can improve user engagement while also improving advertising effectiveness.

If any of these uses are of interest to your organization, we’d love to connect with you. By filling out our request form, a member of our team will get in touch with you to learn more about your unique use cases.

Check back with us for the second instalment of this series as we examine additional industry applications for the Sonantic platform.
